Reggae is back in the Window Licker family!  We are happy to announce the signing of Carbondale's very own The Rum Runners!  Here is some info on the band.....From out of the depths of the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois come The Rum Runners. Since 2002 The Rum Runners have been proud to be the regions only true ska and reggae band. Originally named Terra Firma, the band was formed by guitarist, songwriter and lead singer Tim Whiteford and bassist and songwriter Kurt Eickelberg. The Rum Runners have gone from being an obscure roots reggae cover band to developing electrifying original music that stays true to the sounds of Jamaican ska and reggae while adding undertones of American roots music. The bands wall of sound includes a wailing horn section, aggressive vocals with sweet harmonies, rockin’ guitar, smooth organ, and a tight, booming rhythm section. Named band of the year in 2005 by the Nightlife newspaper in their hometown of Carbondale, IL., The Rum Runners have been one of the hardest working bands in the area. To their credits they have played constantly around the Midwest at festivals, bars and private parties. The Rum Runners have also released three full-length albums; Lock The Door (2005), This Little World (2005), Bare Bones (2006).
